Student Accommodation: Introduction "Where will I live?"

The photographs, student magazines and prospectuses within the University Archive reveal another very important part of a student’s life: where it is that they called home.

"It is because the Hostel is such a microcosm that it is such an invaluable institution. If experience is to teach us anything, the lessons learned here should be the most valuable of all, for here we have seen the world: in miniature, perhaps, but very nearly complete. We have seen successes and failures, and we have learned to know what successes were not worth having, and which failures were better than any success.
